A freestanding two-person dome with 8 mm aluminium poles and a separate fly. The floor is 200 × 140 cm with a 40 cm porch and 105 cm of headroom. It weighs 1.85 kg and packs to 50 × 13 × 13 cm.

Which kind of tent?

Light tents stand up in one of three ways. It changes where you can pitch, what you carry, and how long it takes.

  • FreestandingThis one

    Its own poles hold it up, so it stands on rock, platforms and sand before you stake it. The easiest to pitch, and usually the heaviest.

  • Semi-freestanding

    A short pole set plus a few stakes. Lighter than freestanding and still quick to put up, but it needs ground you can stake into.

  • Trekking-pole

    Your trekking poles are the frame, so there are no tent poles to carry. The lightest option, but it needs good stakes and a little practice.

  • Pitch it at home first

    Learn it in the backyard, not in the dark with the wind picking up.

  • Single or double wall

    Single-wall tents are lighter but gather more condensation inside. Double-wall tents keep it off you and your bag.

  • Stakes matter

    The stakes that come with light tents suit firm soil. For sand, snow or hard ground, carry a few longer or wider ones.

  • Weight per person

    Split the tent between two packs: fly and poles in one, inner and stakes in the other.

Questions

How long does it take to pitch?
About five minutes once you've done it once: clip the inner to the two crossed poles, throw the fly over and stake it out. Practise at home before your first trip.
Is it big enough for two?
The floor is 200 × 140 cm, which fits two standard mats side by side, with packs in the 40 cm porch.
Does it come with stakes and guy lines?
It comes with whatever the maker packs with it, which the spec table lists where the maker publishes it. Light stakes suit firm ground. For sand, snow or rocky sites, add a few longer or wider stakes.
Do I need trekking poles?
Only for trekking-pole tents, which use your poles as the frame. The spec table says how it pitches. Freestanding and semi-freestanding tents come with their own poles.
Is the seam sealing done?
Check the spec table: where the maker says the seams are taped or sealed, we list it. Silicone-coated fabrics often need seam sealer, which the maker's notes will mention. Pitch it at home and hose it down before a big trip.
How do I stop condensation?
Every tent gets condensation on cold, still nights. Open the vents, pitch with a door to the breeze, avoid hollows where cold air pools, and keep wet gear in the vestibule. Double-wall tents keep it off you; single-wall tents need more airflow.
When will it arrive?
We dispatch in 1–3 business days, then it's 10–20 business days on the way to Australia. There's no warehouse or shopfront in between, which is why it takes longer and costs less. If you have a trip booked, order at least four weeks before you leave. You'll get a tracking number by email when the parcel is scanned. Full details on the Shipping page.
Will my order arrive in one parcel?
Gear from the same maker usually travels together. If your order has gear from more than one maker, it can arrive in two or three parcels, sometimes a few days apart. You'll get an email with a tracking number for every parcel, so you always know what's on the way.
Will I pay duty or GST on delivery?
No. Orders under A$1,000 clear into Australia without additional duty or GST, so there's nothing to pay when your parcel arrives.
What if it isn't right?
You have 30 days from delivery to return it unused and in its packaging. If it's faulty or doesn't match what we published, we pay the return postage and refund in full. See Returns.
